I recently ordered takeout, and the food was just as fresh and high-quality as when we dine in. We usually eat at the restaurant because the service is quick and efficient, but the takeout experience impressed us just as much. The nigiri and sashimi were especially fresh, the tempura was crisp and delicious, and I highly recommend the Double Wild Salmon Roll from the special rolls menu. We’ll definitely be ordering takeout again!

I'm usually wary of mall eateries, thanks to a few past letdowns, but Sushi5 was a gamble that paid off. It didn't rewrite my culinary code, but it did deliver where it counts: good service, tasty food, and reasonable prices. Nothing earth-shattering, but solidly satisfying. They've got a mix-and-match lunch deal that caught my eye, so there's a good chance I'll drop in again next time I'm nearby.

The food is always fresh and comes out quickly. I always like to get the yam tempura, chicken teriyaki meal and double salmon roll. Servers are always kind and attentive.

Update of my review one year later, Sushi5 has bumped to my #1, and I base this on the level of service, consistency of the quality + quantity of food, and at a fair price point. Service is outstanding! Staff make an effort to remember you, they’re always friendly, quick to serve, and make sure you have everything you need while you enjoy a meal. Sushi5 is my first choice when I crave Teriyaki or Udon Soup. The Udon Soup is loaded with thick noodles, broth, a variety of veggies, and meat or tofu. Their broth is by far the best I’ve had in comparison to other sushi places on the North Shore; it’s packed with flavor, yet not too salty. I’ve tried all Teriyaki (beef, chicken, tofu), all are perfectly seasoned, loaded with veggies, rice, meat, and come with miso soup. Their tempura is above average (in my opinion), because it’s a thin batter, so while you enjoy the flavor of the prawns or vegetables, they aren’t heavy or greasy. The quality and quantity is better than many places, which is why I keep coming back! Special Rolls here are a tad underwhelming, but the basics are delicious and fresh (Veggie Roll, Wild Salmon Roll, Spicy Wild Salmon, Wild Salmon Avocado, Prawn Tempura Crunch Roll). Atmosphere: clean, inviting, not too loud even when busy, seats are comfy. Even though you’re in a mall, they’ve done a great job of making it not feel that way. Thank you Sushi5 for making delicious meals and for being so welcoming! P.S. food here works great as takeout and sustainably packaged.

I got the new atlantic salmon and ika nigiri to go. Everything was super fresh and delicious! Friendly service and beautifully presented even for takeout. Highly recommend!

I love eating at Sushi 5! My favourite sushi place in Lynn Valley. Nice atmosphere, friendly and fast service, very good and always fresh food and prices are decent. For me, they have so far the best and tastiest Chicken teriyaki dish I have eaten. I recommend this place to everyone who likes Japanese food!

I’m a huge fan of their creative and flavorful rolls! The House Roll, which features wild salmon, tuna, crab meat, tamago, avocado, cucumber, and is topped with tobiko, is my absolute favorite. I also noticed the Lion King Roll and Pink Tiger Roll on the menu, and I can’t wait to try them next time:) Unfortunately, I found that negitoro roll didn’t have much flavor. It seems like the quality of negitoro itself might not be up to par, or perhaps it wasn’t prepared as well as expected. I hope this is something they can improve in the future!
